April Newsletter
Picture people are visiting April 7th and 8th! We will take individual and group portraits. Please have your child here by 9:00 am on Thursday April 8th for class pictures. We want to make sure everyone is included. You will be able to purchase pictures on April 14th and 15th.
Easter Egg Hunt
It is time for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! Students will need to bring a basket from home to collect eggs in. We will begin the egg hunt at 9:00 am. Parents are welcome to attend and take pictures.
March of Dimes Walk and B-B-Q April 30th @ 8:30 am
We are so excited to participate in the March of Dimes walk again this year. This will be our 4th year to walk and we would love to have our students and their families join us for this fun event. We will walk at 9:00 am and celebrate afterwards at The Kangaroo Forest with everyone who participated. This year we will be serving B-B-Q for lunch. We hope to see all of our families there!! For more information about the walk and when and where to meet please see the front office.
Take home library books.....
Our librarian would like to remind everyone to return their take home books promptly so that other students will be able to enjoy them. We want to be sure everyone has a chance to enjoy the library books available in the common room. Please be sure if you take a book home that you return the next day. We have provided bags in the library for you to bring the books back and forth to school each day! Thank you so very much for your help. Happy Reading!
Box Tops for School
Thanks to everyone who has been collecting box tops for our school. We are so excited when we see those box tops come in!! Take a look at products your family uses and be sure to clip the box tops and bring them to school. There is a collection box on the stone table in the lobby. Any funds we raise through this program will be used for playground improvements. Thank you again to those who have been collecting for us!
Pick-up Reminder
Parents please be sure to not allow younger siblings to roam the building while picking up your child each evening. We are experiencing some problems with younger siblings running into empty classrooms and getting into classroom supplies while parents are picking up. Please make sure to keep all non-school age children with you during drop-off and pick-up time. Also, please be sure to close your students classroom door behind you when you enter and exit the classroom. Small children are able to wander off when doors are left open. Please do not send your older child in the building to pick-up a sibling unless they stop by the front office prior to entering a classroom. This will allow a member of The Kangaroo Forest to help assist with the classroom doors and keep small children safe.
Warm Weather Clothes
With warm weather upon us we would like to remind everyone to ensure your child has the appropriate attire for outdoor play. Jackets are occassionally still necessary in the morning for morning recess. Please be sure to check your child's cubby for an extra change of clothes and double check all winter clothes are taken home. Also, please remember your child will not be permitted outside without proper shoes. No crocs, sandals, or flip flops are allowed. Thank you so much for your help with ensuring our students are safe.
Kangaroo Care After Hours
Parents who wish to have teachers babysit outside of the center after business hours will need to utilize our babysitting service, Kangaroo Care After Hours. Membership to this service is free to parents with children attending The Kangaroo Forest and a phone call is all that is needed to schedule a babysitter. Please let the front office know if you are in need of a babysitter rather than speaking to our teachers. We would prefer you schedule a babysitter at the front office so that our teaches can focus on their students. We will be happy to help assist you anytime just let us know what we can do to help!
